Great Beginnings! Puppy Starter ClassFor: Puppies 8 weeks–16 weeks old
Cost: $100 for 5-week seriesWhen: Anytime! Our puppy class is open enrollment. That means you can start anytime—you never lose out on critical socialization and training time while waiting for a spot in a class. Focus: House and crate training | socialization | how to handle mouthing and ankle biting | preventing food and toy guarding | preparing your puppy for home alone time | body handling exercises | how to prevent behavior problems | practical tips for raising your puppy Why: Early socialization is key to a well-balanced pup! The first 16 weeks of a puppy’s life is the most critical developmental stage, called the primary socialization period. Both positive and negative experiences during this time can affect your dog for the rest of his life. Our class will help socialize your pup to new people, other puppies, noises, being handled, and how to deal with potentially scary things. Start your puppy off on the right paw to a life free of behavior issues!
Puppy House MannersFor: Puppies 14 weeks–10 monthsCost: $100 for 5-week series When: Anytime! Our puppy class is open enrollment. That means you can start anytime—you never lose out on critical socialization and training time while waiting for a spot in a class. Focus: Sit | down | stay | coming when called | sitting politely for greetings | how to walk nicely on leash | playing nice with other dogs | paying attention Why: Puppies need lots of practice to learn how to be a well-behaved pet. We make sure to include safe socialization at this stage, so your dog continues to hone his doggie communication skills. Set your big puppy up for a lifetime of success!
Puppy TricksFor: Puppies 12 weeks – 12 monthsCost: $100 for 5-week series Focus: improved behavior / channeling puppy energy / focus around distractions / sharpen your training skills / tricks such as: take a bow, roll over, weave through legs, find my keys, jump through hoop, shake, high five, wave and more Why: Who doesn't love tricks? Even very young puppies can learn all kinds of fun and cute tricks. Teaching your dog tricks is a fun way to an even smarter, more focused pup that will dazzle friends and family with impressive tricks. You’ll learn foundation skills and a variety of easy-to-learn tricks. A great way to improve your training skills while your pup gets to channel all that puppy energy into some really amazing tricks!
Puppy AgilityFor: Puppies 14 weeks–12 monthsCost: $100 for 5-week series Focus: Clicker training | agility skills | focus through fun games | practice on puppy-sized agility equipment like ramps, tunnels, and teeter-totter Why: Build your puppy’s confidence through his developmental fear stage—and burn up energy as well. Agility is perfect for helping shy puppies develop confidence and for confident puppies to develop focus and attention. Great fun for both you and you puppy! For all classes: Puppies must be current on their vaccination schedule and must have had their 2nd puppy vaccination at least 7 days prior to first class date.
